Rawalpindi: The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court made Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhary a larger bench to hear the constitutional petition of chairman PTI on the issue of contempt Election Commission notice.
According to Express News, a 3-member larger bench consisting of Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf and Justice Jawad Al Hasan will hear the constitutional petitions tomorrow at 1 pm.
In the petitions against the contempt notice of the Election Commission, it has been argued that the Election Commission is an administrative commission and does not have the status of a judiciary. Proceedings of contempt of court are only the jurisdiction of the judiciary, therefore the notices of the Election Commission should be declared null and void.
The larger bench appointed for the hearing issued notices to Imran Khan, Fawad Chaudhary, Deputy Attorney General and the Election Commission.
