Karachi :
Gas supply to all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan is being suspended. To meet the additional demand of domestic consumers in winter, supply of gas to CNG sector in Sindh and Balochistan from 1st December to 15th February 2022 It has been decided to close.
According to a statement issued by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) and the Government of Pakistan have approved the Gas Load Management Priority Order, which includes domestic and commercial consumers. The decision has been made.
The decision said that in order to supply gas to domestic and commercial consumers, especially consumers in Balochistan who are already facing winter season, gas supply to all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan is being suspended. ۔
It may be recalled that earlier the supply of gas to all captive power plants of non-export industries was stopped three days ago due to excess demand in winter till further orders. However, all general industries, zero rated export industries including its Gas supply to Captive Power Plants and Fertilizer Sector will continue. Gas generated from these arrangements will be supplied to domestic consumers so that they can meet their growing gas needs in the context of winter season.
It should be noted that additional gas supply is essential for the survival of human lives in Balochistan as gas serves as a lifeline for those who are in dire need of various gas appliances to keep themselves warm at extremely low temperatures. Sui Southern Gas Company expects from the CNG sector in this regard that it will continue to receive support from the sector for uninterrupted supply of gas to domestic consumers.
