ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet has approved a 30 percent reduction in the prices of medicines.
According to the statement of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the federal cabinet has approved the reduction in the prices of 20 medicines. Prices of most medicines have come down by 30%.
Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel said that the prices of medicines used in blood pressure, cancer and eye diseases have been reduced. Reducing the prices of medicines used in various diseases is another step towards providing relief to people.
The federal health minister further said that approval has also been given to set the prices of 54 new medicines. These new medicines will be used in cancer and various diseases. In the past, the PTI government increased the prices of medicines by 700%.
