Senator Faisal Javed said in a tweet that “Insha Allah, the ‘biggest meeting’ in the history of Pakistan will be held on Sunday, March 27 in Azadi Chowk, Islamabad, during which Prime Minister Imran Khan will deliver a historic address.”
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed has said that the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will be voted after March 27.
He further said in the tweet that the opposition would have a complete failure in the no-confidence motion, adding that confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan would increase.
It may be recalled that after several weeks of consultations and continuous meetings, the opposition had tabled a no-confidence motion on March 8.
In addition to submitting a resolution under Article 95 of the Constitution, the Opposition had also submitted a requisition under Article 54 (3) of the Constitution to convene a session of the National Assembly.
Under the constitution, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser is required to convene a meeting of the National Assembly within 14 days of the submission of the requisition notice, which means he must convene a meeting of the National Assembly by March 22 and within three to seven days the No Confidence motion must be voted on. Talking to media after meeting of the party’s core committee in Islamabad with PTI leader Amir Kayani, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said that OIC meeting would be held on March 21, 22 and 23. Yes, there is an attempt not to convene the National Assembly on these dates but the final decision will be taken by the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
