Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has appointed Asim Iftikhar as its new Foreign Office Spokesperson, replacing former Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry with the post of Ambassador to Australia.
According to details, the Foreign Ministry has changed Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry and said that Asim Iftikhar will be the new Foreign Office Spokesperson. Zahid Hafeez will assume his responsibilities as Ambassador to Australia. He also had charge of DG South Asia.
It may be recalled that in February this year, Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved the appointment of Pakistani ambassadors to several countries, in which Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez was appointed High Commissioner to Australia, while the ambassador to Australia would be Pakistan’s ambassador to Norway.
It may be recalled that in August 2020, the Foreign Ministry had appointed Zahid Hafeez as the Foreign Office Spokesperson in place of Ayesha Farooqi. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has been serving in the Foreign Ministry for the last 26 years.
He has served as Director General of Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey and Joint Secretary of National Security. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has been posted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director General of South Asia and SAARC.
