Last night, the government increased the price of petrol by 6 rupees 72 paisa per liter, after which the new price became 233 rupees 91 paisa per liter, high speed diesel became 244 rupees 44 paisa after being cheaper by 51 paise. In the announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance, it was said that in the light of the changes in oil prices and exchange rates in the international market, the government has decided to pass on the effects of changes in the prices of petroleum products to the public, but in the global market. The government has been heavily criticized for increasing the prices of petroleum products despite falling oil prices and improving the value of the rupee against the dollar in the country and claiming not to increase the prices of petroleum products.
Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of Muslim League (N) herself rejected the decision to increase the price of petrol and said that I stand with the people, I cannot support this decision. In another tweet, she said that Mian Nawaz Sharif He strongly opposed this decision and even said that I cannot burden the public with one more penny and if there is any compulsion from the government, I am not involved in this decision and left the meeting.
