Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the effects of Afghanistan’s economic catastrophe will be felt on neighboring countries.
According to details, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a statement to the Council of Foreign Ministers regarding the situation in Afghanistan said that the immediate energy crisis in Afghanistan could escalate further and the effects of Afghanistan’s economic catastrophe would fall on neighboring countries.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that European countries are well aware of the situation in Afghanistan, peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of the region and the world, the slightest negligence can affect the whole region. The OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Afghanistan has been convened. Afghanistan is a key member of the OIC and cannot be left alone.
He said that Pakistan was assisting Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds, Pakistan was providing all possible facilities to Afghan citizens and relief items were also being provided by Pakistan. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that It should be noted that Pakistan is doing its best to fulfill its responsibility, as a neighbor, and to draw the attention of the international community to Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister said that it is expected that other neighbors of Afghanistan will also play a role. Officials are also being told that lessons should be learned from the mistakes of the past. Talks are also being held in the United States to play a role for a stable Afghanistan.
