Islamabad :
According to local media reports, according to the notification issued by Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah, the transfer of 21st grade officer Ghulam Nabi Memon will be implemented immediately. Additional Inspector General Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon has been transferred and posted as Additional IG in Special Branch Sindh.
In a separate notification, Special Branch Sindh Officer Imran Yaqub Minhas has been posted as Additional IG Karachi, which will be implemented immediately.
It may be recalled that in May this year, the federation had informed the Sindh government that it needed the services of Additional Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon, Chief of Karachi Police, for a federal job.
In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary Sindh by the Establishment Division, it was written that “for a job of the Federal Government, the Establishment Division needs the services of Ghulam Nabi Memon (PSP / Grade 21).”
The letter argued that the services required would be “beneficial” for the officer as well, as he had a diverse experience for promotion in Grade 22, as well as services in various locations. Therefore, the additional services of the said officer with the Government of Sindh may affect the aspects of his development.
The letter pointed out that the Establishment Division has recently promoted officers of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and is a Grade 21 officer in various posts in the Sindh government.
It may be recalled that Ghulam Nabi Memon was hired by the Sindh government on April 22, 2019. At that time, he was working in the Intelligence Bureau. Besides, he had also served in the Pakistan High Commission in the United Kingdom for three years.
