In view of the fear of increase in cases, a 15-day lockdown has been imposed in Ketch district and samples of suspected patients have been sent to NIHD Islamabad for verification. According to the details, the report of English newspaper Express Tribune has revealed that 30 people in Kalat district of Balochistan have been diagnosed with suspected omicron.
In this regard, Dr. Naqibullah Niazi, in-charge Corona Operation Cell Balochistan, said that during the testing of Corona in Kalat district, 30 suspected patients of Omekron came to light in two days. Samples of suspected Omicron patients from Kalat were sent to NIHD Islamabad for verification.
In addition, the health department has written a letter to the District Health Officer, Kalat, instructing them to search for suspected Omicron patients and quarantine them immediately.
It was further informed that a 15-day lockdown has been decided in view of the fear of increase in Corona cases in Ketch district of Balochistan. On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Authority has initiated measures to curb Omicron at the country’s major airports. It has been reported that the teams of Health Department are fully operational at Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore airports. Rapid antigen tests have been started at the airports of all passengers arriving in Pakistan via direct and connecting flights from UK. A spokesman for the CAA said passengers from Britain, Gulf countries and Saudi Arabia were being tested.
