International Group: On Friday, May 19, 2023, the 32nd meeting of the heads of the Arab League was held in the city of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the chairmanship of Mohammed bin Salman, with the presence of representatives of Arab countries. The turning point of this meeting can be considered the return of the seat of Syria to the legitimate government of Damascus and the historic visit of the president of this country, Bashar al-Assad, to Saudi Arabia. Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz Airport, Assad was greeted by Prince Badr bin Sultan, the son of the former head of Saudi intelligence and the Secretary General of the Arab League. This happened while 12 years ago, during the unrest in Syria, the member states of the Arab League took the seat of the legitimate government of Assad and handed it over to the Syrian opposition. With the resistance of the Syrian nation-state and the military-advisory assistance of the allies of Damascus, once again the statesmen of the Arab countries chose the way of interacting with the legal government of Syria so that they can play a role in the era of “rebuilding infrastructure” and “construction”.
