Economic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan has been on a positive track. The recent opening of economic and border projects will strengthen the border trade between them and attract investment in Balochistan. In addition, the efforts and plans of the two neighboring countries will also improve in the area of border management, which is necessary to curb informal trade, smuggling, organized crime, especially the drug problem.
Realistically, without improving the socio-economic conditions of the two countries, overcoming the sinister phenomenon of drug and arms trafficking, and most importantly, eliminating terrorists and elements disrupting security in the common borders, eliminating ideological and physical support to the extent A dream will remain, so Islamabad needs Tehran’s help to face these challenges.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeesi jointly inaugurated the border bazaar of Pishin-Mand and the Plan-Gebd electricity transmission line on May 28 this year. The opening of the border bazaar is the first step for the creation of six other border bazaars that will be established along the border between Iran and Pakistan. In fact, these border markets increase local business and employment opportunities, strengthen businesses between neighboring local areas, and help increase the volume of legal trade across shared borders.
