Project of Burning Quran: What Goal Does West Pursue.
Political settlement by attacking the Koran
The Swedish government recently issued a legal permit for “burning Qurans” in its country for the third time, and this time it was done in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm, but the question comes to mind why the space in front of the Turkish embassy was chosen to commit this insult.
Issuing permission to burn Koran by an extremist in front of the Turkish embassy is not unrelated to Turkey’s presence in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and on the other hand Turkey’s opposition to Sweden and Finland joining NATO.
The West’s double standard for freedom of expression
“Freedom of speech” is widely used in the West these days as a pretext for burning the Holy Quran, insulting the Messenger of God (PBUH) and spreading hatred against Islam. Freedom of speech, the crown jewel of the so-called Western democracy, is slowly receding with the rise of fascist right-wing parties in most European countries, and what happened in Sweden is just the tip of the iceberg.
The bitter irony of the story is that a country like Sweden considers it a crime to burn the gay flag on the pretext that it is incitement against a group of citizens in the country, but the same law makes a racist right-wing citizen, who the Bible says more than two billion Muslims in the world and He burned tens of thousands of people living in Sweden, he is not considered guilty.
According to experts, the double standard of the West regarding freedom of expression is one side of the coin, and the other side is related to the growing power of extremist groups in different European countries. Today, not only in Sweden and the Netherlands, but also in other European countries, the political space for the extreme right is more open than ever.
For example, during the past months in the parliamentary elections of France and Sweden, the extreme right has greatly improved its position and has become a strong weight. In the recent Italian elections, as polls predicted, Italian voters voted for a party with “neo-fascist” roots.
