Moscow’s clear call for Hezbollah to remain in Syria. Some important Russian warnings to Washington and Tel Aviv.
While the enemies of the resistance are trying to turn Hezbollah-Russia relations upside down by spreading false information, Moscow has explicitly stated that it wants to keep the movement in Syria.
In recent years, there have been numerous reports and news in the media opposing the Syrian regime and its allies, i.e.Russia is taking steps to expel Hezbollah and Iran from Syria, or at least wants to limit the presence of both sides in this country. The approach of these media outlets is based on the fact that Russia does not want to have a partner in Syria.
But the ground reality shows the exact opposite of the media approach; Because the evidence indicates effective cooperation on several levels between Iran, Russia, and Hezbollah in Syria, and sometimes even the roles to deal with the invaders in the territory of this country are divided between the three parties. Of course, sometimes there are contradictory and disputed issues between the three parties, which are always resolved by collective organization and agreement.
But the recent visit of a Hezbollah delegation led by Mohamed Raad, head of the Lebanese parliament’s Faithful Resistance faction, to Russia and a meeting with Lebanese officials was an issue in which Russia clarified its position on Hezbollah’s presence in Syria. During meetings with the Hezbollah delegation in Russia, Moscow officials praised Hezbollah’s military performance, the skill, discipline, and ability of the movement’s forces in various operations, as well as the pragmatism of the Lebanese resistance.
Russian military officials and politicians are now well aware that Hezbollah’s presence in Syria is more urgent than ever, and any gap between Hezbollah or Iran in any part of Syria will be filled by the Americans; Not the Russians or the Syrians.
Accordingly, the Russian authorities were eager to send a clear message to the Hezbollah leadership that their presence in Syria is absolutely necessary, both politically and militarily, and we hope to work with you on both issues in the future.
In fact, the Russians do not consider Hezbollah a Lebanese group; Rather, for Moscow, the Lebanese resistance is a movement that is present in many countries in the region. During the Hezbollah delegation’s visit to Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and several senior Russian officials, along with Hezbollah representatives, discussed the situation in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, and other countries in the region. The two sides also discussed the possibility of opening a Hezbollah representative office in Moscow and stressed the need to strengthen the means of communication between the Lebanese and Russian resistance.
The Hezbollah delegation’s visit to Moscow at the invitation of Russian officials was also part of the country’s message to Washington that the Americans’ efforts to create a rift between Russia and Iran and Hezbollah would not succeed, and Moscow, in addition to coordination with Iran, called for cooperation, is direct with Hezbollah. Earlier, the Russians had told all Western, Arab, and regional countries that Hezbollah was a great power and that the movement should be accordingly dealt with.
Another message that Moscow tried to convey during this trip was to the Zionist regime that although Russia seeks to reach an agreement with all parties on Syria; But it does not help the Zionists in their attacks, on the contrary, it condemns all these attacks, especially the aggressions that take place in the Lebanese sky. Accordingly, Moscow is committed to preventing Israeli aircraft from infiltrating Syrian airspace, while the Zionist regime’s efforts to prevent the transfer of weapons to Lebanon have failed and cannot prevent Hezbollah from achieving its goals.
