Islamic Jihad and the challenge of assassination.
In November 2019, when Baha Abol-Ata, one of the important and influential leaders of the Saraya Al-Quds military battalions of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was assassinated in his home in the Gaza Strip, so far, more than 10 military commanders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have been targeted by the Zionist regime. After the assassination of Abul Atta, once last year (August 2022) and once in recent weeks (May 2023), we have witnessed two targeted attacks to eliminate the military leaders of the Islamic Jihad in Palestine:
The most important commanders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad assassinated since 2019 can be listed as follows:
Baha Abul-Ata, one of the important and key commanders of Islamic Jihad missile battalions (2019)
Hossam Mohammad Abu Harbid, Commander of the Northern Brigade of Al Quds Brigade (2021)
Taysir Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Jabari, the senior commander of Islamic Jihad and a member of the military council of this movement and responsible for the northern region of Gaza (2022)
Khalid Saeed Shehadeh Mansour, senior commander in the Rafah Brigade and member of the Military Council of the Islamic Jihad Movement and responsible for the southern region of Gaza (2022)
Rafat Saleh Ebrahim Zamili, one of the commanders of the Rafah Brigade (2022)
Salama Mohareb Abdullah Abid, one of the commanders of the Gaza Brigade (2022)
Ziyad Ahmad Khalil Al-Mudall, one of the commanders of the Rafah Brigade (2022)
Ali Ramzi Al-Asoud, one of the commanders of Quds Battalions, the military branch of Islamic Jihad in Syria (2023)
Jihad Shakir al-Ghanam, leadership of Al-Quds battalions in different years (2023)
Khalil Salah al-Bahtini, the commander of the northern Gaza region and the commander of monitoring the rocket industry of the Palestinian resistance (2023)
Tariq Mohammad Ezzeddin, responsible for Islamic Jihad military operations in the West Bank and overseeing operations (2023)
Ali Hassan Ghali, head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad missile unit (2023)
Ahmed Abu Daqeh, Deputy Commander of the Quds Battalions Missile Force (2023)
Iyad al-Hasani, one of the important commanders and operational manager of Islamic Jihad (2023)
The assassination of 14 important military figures of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza during at least 8 attacks by Tel Aviv has raised the question of what is happening?
The Gaza Strip and the challenge of spies
The issue of spies and security gaps has been one of the most serious resistance issues in recent years. Due to the fact that Gaza has been under the security and military umbrella of the security forces of the self-governing organizations and the Zionist regime for several decades, but after the Zionists left this strip in 2005, there is still the problem of spies and the remaining infrastructure for espionage. If you follow the news of the Gaza Strip, you will not hear about the arrest or execution of a spy every month. Even in recent years, campaigns have been created to make people aware of the Zionist spying methods, such as telephone information dumping, international cover companies and charities, social networks, etc., and efforts are being made to minimize this issue.
Organizational weakness of the Islamic Jihad movement
One of the other issues that should be mentioned is the organizational weakness of the Islamic Jihad movement. Due to the type of structure and obstacles they have had, the jihadists have not worked much on their organizational structure, unlike the epic ones. Part of this weakness is due to the dispersion of management between Gaza and Damascus, which is also a detailed story.
