Does the threat of demolition of Al-Aqsa not exist anymore?
Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the first Qibla of Muslims in the world, has always been the center of attention of the Islamic world. Al-Aqsa Mosque as one of the holiest and at the same time the most key and controversial places on earth has always been prominent throughout history.
This mosque has a special place among Muslims and is considered their first Qiblah and their third holy place. The Prophet of Islam was transferred to this mosque on the night of captivity and the most extraordinary gathering in human history took place here. In the incident of captives, all the prophets followed the example of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and prayed behind him.
In Islam, the name of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is mentioned next to the Al-Haram Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, and the Kufa Mosque as the most virtuous mosques, and it is stated in the hadiths that praying in the Al-Aqsa Mosque is equal to praying a thousand times in other mosques.
At 6:30 in the morning on August 21, 1969, Palestine witnessed another incident in the continuation of the aggression of the Zionist regime against Al-Aqsa Mosque to destroy and control the first Qibla of Muslims in the world with the aim of building the alleged Temple of Solomon on its ruins.
On this day, “Michael Dennis Rohan”, an extremist Zionist settler, set fire to the eastern area of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Following this criminal act against this Islamic holy place, the fire spread to large parts of Al-Aqsa Mosque and many of its courtyards were on fire.
In this fire, three naves of Al-Aqsa Mosque were burnt and parts of the roof of Al-Aqsa Mosque also collapsed. Also, several mosques, altars, and places of worship in it were destroyed by fire or their parts were seriously damaged.
