Do the demonstrations in the occupied territories take on an economic turn?
Tensions in the occupied territories have increased to such an extent that it has even challenged the relations between Washington and Tel Aviv. On Tuesday evening, in response to the crisis in the occupied territories, the President of the United States expressed great concern about this crisis and said: We hope that Netanyahu will withdraw from the judicial reform plan in Israel.
In addition, Hebrew media reported that American officials warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his relatives to refrain from any provocative actions and creating tension with US President Joe Biden.
The fact is that despite the prominence of the role of political challenges in the emergence and occurrence of recent widespread tensions in the occupied territories, the deterioration of the economic situation of the Zionist regime has not had an effect on the formation of protests. All indicators indicate that the economic situation of the Zionists has been deteriorating over the past years. Therefore, in addition to the existence of a chronic political crisis in the occupied territories, it must be said that the fragile economy of the Zionists is also considered one of their most challenging issues.
Are economic conditions better than security?
Recently, in the shadow of the war in Ukraine and the domestic political instability affected by the repeated elections, the economic conditions for the Zionists have become much more complicated. Perhaps, at first glance, the Iranian society, due to the lack of accurate knowledge, considers the economic conditions of the Zionists as a normal life and assumes that security is a serious challenge for the Jews in the occupied territories due to the presence of the Palestinian resistance forces and Iran’s support.
But the latest results from a Zionist center in the last month of 2022 show that, despite the vast security problems and the Zionists’ fear of this issue, the citizens of the occupied territories consider the government of the Zionist regime to be more incapable of providing economy and welfare than security.
In the results of the Israel Democracy Center, it is clearly stated that the citizens of the regime have always believed that the political structure has been more successful in providing security than providing prosperity. The graph below shows the response to the level of security and welfare in the last 4 years. (security blue, prosperity green)
