Israel’s plan to normalize relations with Arab countries is a plan to interfere in the matter of these countries. The Arab rulers should realize the conspiracy “From the Nile to the Euphrates” and move forward to secure the entire region from Zionist occupation and colonial policies. Now, it is the time for the compromising Arab sheikhs to establish relations with Damascus as before and not give any chance or excuse to America and the occupying government.
When the Syrian crisis began in March 2011, with the comprehensive support of the Jews Arab and Western trica to overthrow the legitimate government of that country and establish a puppet government, at that time, few people would have thought that after 12 years, these rivals countries of the region would reunite with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad but this matter has now become a reality. However, in the past two years, Arab countries have normalized relations with the Syrian government and some of them have restored diplomatic relations. Two weeks ago, the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that hit Syria has seriously affected it, with a huge loss of life. The Arab countries, especially the people of the Persian Gulf region to correct past wrong attitudes and express sympathy with the Syrians and prioritize humanitarian issues have expressed their desire to restore diplomatic relations with Damascus in a dignified and legitimate manner.
In this regard, Oman has built an air bridge for Syria since the first day of the earthquake and has sent several planes carrying humanitarian aid to the people affected by the earthquake. So far, Saudi Arabia has sent 2 planes carrying relief supplies to Syria, including tents, clothes, food and medical equipment and allocated $49 million to help victims of the Syrian earthquake. In addition to allocating several million dollars for the earthquake in Syria, the United Arab Emirates has also sent 58 planes carrying humanitarian aid to the country. Qatar also announced that it has allocated $70 million for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. But it is not clear how much of it has reached Syria. Egypt has also sent military planes carrying emergency medical aid to Syria. Jordan has also sent several planes carrying food to Damascus. In this new situation, Bashar al-Assad left for the Persian Gulf on Monday to visit the Sultanate of Oman and then the United Arab Emirates in the first foreign tour since the 2011 crisis.
The beginning of relations between Syria and Arab countries did not establish overnight but in recent years some countries have provided the infrastructure. Signs of Arab countries opening their doors for Damascus appeared with the re-opening of the UAE embassy in Damascus in 2018 and then with Assad’s visit to the UAE in March 2022. Oman, which always has a different political point of view than the other Persian Gulf sheiks, has maintained a more or less balanced approach to the Syrian crisis; unlike other Arabs, did not call back its ambassador from Syria in 2012. Oman maintained its ties, but the other of the Arabs countries cut off ties entirely. Oman refused to end ties regardless of pressure from the US and Arab countries.
Muscat even refused to vote to suspend Syria’s membership in the Arab League and continued talks with Damascus. Similarly, in 2020, Turkey appointed Mahmoud Albusidi its ambassador to Syria and a new chapter in the relations between the two countries began.
The continuation of good relations between Muscat and Damascus was emphasized in the meeting between Bashar Assad and King Haitham bin Tariq of this country during his recent visit to Oman. Assad said that Oman has always maintained its balanced policy and the region now needs more of this country’s role to strengthen relations between Arab countries based on mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries. The Sultan of Oman also called Syria a brotherly country and hoped that the country’s relations with other Arab countries would return to normal.
In the last two years, many countries, led by Algeria, have announced their commitment to Syria’s return to the Arab League and many efforts have been made in this matter. Only a few countries, including Saudi Arabia, have not done so. According to developments in recent months, it is possible that the world will see Damascus re-entering the Arab League in the near future. Some analysts believe that Assad’s relations with other West Asian countries will also improve through post-earthquake relief efforts. Many countries as the primary enemies of the Syrian government were forced with the help of Saudi pressure not to maintain political ties with Damascus. Al Saud, these days, has somewhat changed its hostile attitude.
In this regard, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said at the security meeting in Munich last Saturday: “There is a consensus in the Arab world on the need to adopt a new approach to Syria, for which there is a need for humanitarian dialogue with Damascus . The Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized that there is a consensus in the Arab world that the current situation is not in the right direction and we should find another way. Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi also visited Damascus last week and then Bashar Assad and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had their telephonic conversation for the first time. UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Assad in Damascus a week before, after the war. All these actions of the Arab countries indicate the normalization of relations with Syria and are better possibilities for improvement in bilateral relations.
The main thing of Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Oman and the United Arab Emirates is that in the last 12 years, Assad has left Syria only a few times and visited only his closest allies Russia and Iran, and once last year he visited Abu Dhabi for the first time. Assad used to keep his visits to Tehran and Moscow secret for security reasons and after his return to Damascus, these reports were published in the media because the US and especially the Zionist regime was likely to create difficulties for the plane carrying Assad. But the fact is that he is now openly traveling to Arab capitals that previously expressed hatred to Assad and it is undoubtedly a sign of the strengthening of Syria’s diplomatic power domestically and internationally.
In other words, walking in Arab capitals Walk with the head up demonstrates the authority of Bashar al-Assad, despite the efforts made by the West and its agents in the region to overthrow his regime but he managed to emerge victoriously and the anti-Bashar lobby did not make the most in this regard. More than defeat, the Arab brothers have to submit to Assad’s rule. Turkey and Qatar, which were the biggest supporters of terrorist groups are now on the way of normalizing ties with Damascus because they have realized the failure of their plans and do not consider it appropriate to continue on this way.
The restoration of Arab relations with Syria will increase Damascus’ ties with the other countries in the world and is a defeat for the United States, which has tried to block the entry of various countries into Syria by imposing extensive sanctions. Even the United States itself had to lift some sanctions under international pressure to facilitate the delivery of aid to the earthquake-stricken areas of Syria. In other words, the wave of international solidarity following the recent earthquake in Syria is a source to the country’s emergence from international isolation and the lifting of Western sanctions. During the civil war, the Syrian nation suffered great pain and suffering from its enemies. Syria stood on the field with self-respect and faced the burden of the opposition of the Zionist regime and the Arab countries on its shoulders alone, and did not allow the Zionists and the West to implement the wicked plan of the “Greater Middle East”.
It can be said that the recent earthquake in Syria could be a turning point in the improvement of Arab-Syrian relations and its political aftershocks will ring for change in Arab capitals, awakening them from their sleep after 12 years of war,It will not only make Arabs to understand the current ground realities but will also end up their deadlock with Syria Damascus because leaving Syria alone in the current situation is nothing but serving the Zionist regime, which the public opinion of the Arab world will not accept. The reaction of the Zionist leaders to the earthquake in Turkey and Syria is a blow for the Arabs having compromising and plotting nature because in the eyes of the Zionists, the lives of Muslims have no value.
Israel’s plan to normalize relations with Arab countries is a plan to interfere in the matter of these countries. The Arab rulers should realize the conspiracy “From the Nile to the Euphrates” and move forward to secure the entire region from Zionist occupation and colonial policies. Now, it is the time for the compromising Arab sheikhs to build relations with Damascus as before and not give any chance and excuse to the US and the occupying government.
