Abdolbari Atwan analyses the UAE National Security Advisor’ visit to Tehran.
The Arab countries have come to the conclusion that neither the United States nor the Zionist regime is capable of supporting them in the coming years, and have therefore sought to increase cooperation with Tehran.
Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, the UAE national security adviser, arrived in Tehran this morning (Monday), and at the same time, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman began his trip to the Arab countries bordering the Persian Gulf.
“While most Arab countries are embroiled in internal and external conflicts and tensions, and there is little news of diplomatic travel, the Persian Gulf region is witnessing unprecedented movements,” wrote Abdul Bari Atwan, a well-known Arab writer and editor-in-chief of the Rai Al-Youm newspaper. “It is diplomatic that the discussion of resuming friendly relations with Iran is the main focus of these movements.”
He wrote that the two trips made today are of great strategic importance and could change the face of the Persian Gulf region in the future political and economic dimensions, as well as security and military cooperation. The first is the visit of Tahnoon bin Zayed, the UAE national security adviser, to Arabia at the invitation of Ali Shamkhani to Tehran, and the second is the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who is scheduled to visit Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait, respectively. The issue of Iran and its nuclear and missile case are at the forefront of his consultations.
Saying that Tahnoon bin Zayed is a man of compromise, Atwan wrote that he is the implementer of the UAE’s new policy to expand Abu Dhabi’s relations with Tehran, resolve disputes, establish relations based on mutual trust, and increase political and economic cooperation.
Abdul Bari Atwan added: “The UAE seems to have abandoned its previous policy of opposition to its rivals and enemies, especially the Muslim Brotherhood and its allies, including Libya and Turkey, and a new policy entitled ‘Zero Problems’.” It is the same policy that Recep Tayyip Erdogan pursued when he first came to power in Turkey, and of course he went in the opposite direction, which reduced his popularity and economic and political success. “Thus, the cessation of propaganda and media attacks by the UAE Cyber Army and Tahnoon’s trip to Ankara, Doha and Tehran can be interpreted in this way.”
According to this analysis, the weapon of money and economy is at the top of the UAE’s new policy, and this policy was fully reflected in the visit of UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed to Ankara, so that the UAE invested a $ 10 billion fund to support the Turkish economy. Launched and tried to improve relations with Turkey after years of tension.
