Srinagar:
The Indian government has set up a task force to crack down on government employees in Occupied Kashmir with the aim of monitoring all government employees in Occupied Kashmir, which clearly shows the confusion of the Indian government.
Meanwhile, the National Conference in Occupied Kashmir has termed the formation of a task force to monitor government employees as a weapon to suppress the employees, which will affect the work in government departments.
According to Kashmir Media Service, National Conference MP Muhammad Akbar Lone in a statement in Srinagar termed the move to monitor the employees through the task force as an order to deprive the people of their basic constitutional rights.
He termed it a colonial practice under which the government would have immense powers and there was nothing to protect the employees and they could be declared enemies of the country at any time.
He said such measures could be used against anyone who criticizes the government or its policies.
He said that there was a critical difference between being hostile to the country and having differences of opinion and this order bridged this gap.
Akbar Lone said that the new measure has given an easy weapon to the top officials to unjustifiably oppress their subordinates. He said that such measures are not liked in a democracy.
He said there was no need for such a law as there were already service rules to deal with employees involved in illegal activities.
He said that this move refutes the government’s claim that the situation in Kashmir is normal as the government does not need such measures under normal circumstances.
