Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has termed Indian terrorism in Occupied Kashmir as a clear failure of the United Nations and said that the United Nations has become just a so-called institution which has no status in the world and it has not survived till date. According to Kashmir Media Service, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 47, the spokesperson of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference said in a statement in Srinagar that the international body had adopted a number of resolutions, including the April 21, 1948 resolution. In which the right of Kashmiris to self-determination was recognized and a referendum was held in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the United Nations had played a role in resolving a number of international disputes, including East Timor, Kosovo and South Sudan, but had failed to meet its obligations on resolutions on the Kashmir issue.
He said that the Indian initiative of August 5, 2019 to end the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was aimed at erasing the true identity of Kashmiris.
The spokesperson urged the international community to implement its resolutions further to address the plight of Kashmiris and put pressure on India to restore the special status of the occupied territories.
