Srinagar: Several organizations in Occupied Kashmir have demanded the Indian government to release the Hurriyat leaders unconditionally in honor of the month of Ramadan.
According to details, Hurriyat leaders and organizations in occupied Kashmir have demanded immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners including Syed Ali Shah Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Musarat Alam Butt and Asiya Andrabi. ۔
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their separate statements issued from Srinagar said that the detentions were nothing but political revenge and that India had no moral or legal justification to keep the Hurriyat leaders under house arrest or jail during Ramadan.
He said that majority of these political detainees are being kept in custody without any trial in the courts and those against whom cases are pending in the courts are not produced in the court on fixed dates under various pretexts to prolong their detention. ۔
On the other hand, posters affixed around the occupied territories reiterate the commitment of Kashmiris that the struggle for independence will continue till the implementation of the relevant UN resolutions.
These posters have been affixed by Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Justice Party, Kashmir Resistance Movement, Kashmir Hurriyat Youth Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Justice League and Jammu and Kashmir Justice Peace Initiative, restoring the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in the posters. Has also been demanded.
On the other hand, Indian forces broke into a restaurant in Pattan area of Baramulla district without provocation and brutally tortured the owner, waiters and people who came to eat there.
Force personnel punched and kicked people, and those seriously injured in the violence have been shifted to hospitals for treatment.
