Srinagar:
The 31st Martyrdom Day of the martyrs of Mohalla Srinagar was commemorated in Occupied Kashmir where all the martyrs were paid homage and Indian terrorism was strongly condemned.
According to details, the International Forum for Forgery and Human Rights in Occupied Kashmir has paid homage to the martyrs of Mashali Mohalla Srinagar on their 31st day of martyrdom.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces had martyred nine innocent civilians on August 6, 1990 in Mashali Mohalla area of Srinagar.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, Muhammad Ahsan Anto, chairman of the International Forum for Forgotten and Human Rights, said that after the massacre, the families of the martyrs hold peaceful protests every year, demanding justice and bringing the perpetrators to justice. But 31 years later, the perpetrators have not been punished.
He said that the International Forum for Forgery and Human Rights had applied to the State Human Rights Commission in this regard.
He said the petition sought a court-martial report against the commander of the 75th Battalion of the BSF and his personnel involved in the massacre.
Ahsan Anto said that no one knows how far the process of court martial has reached. He said that he had approached the State Human Rights Commission to get information about the current situation of the court martial but BSF officials never gave details of the case to the commission.
He urged international human rights organizations to take note of serious human rights violations in the disputed area and put pressure on India to stop them and provide justice to the victims.
