The wrath of Indian delta variant continues across the country, in which Karachi is most affected, the condition of 1210 patients in Karachi is critical, 67% of cases in Karachi are coming from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Hyderabad, 500 patients enter the country daily.
According to details, a joint meeting of the NCOC was hosted by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House. Ministers, Chief Secretary, IG Sindh, Health Secretary Dr. Kazim, Dr. Faisal, Prof. Saeed Qureshi and others also participated.
Briefing the meeting, it was informed that we have entered the sixth week of the fourth wave, now the fourth wave has started to subside.
It was said in the briefing that the rate of corona virus is 13% in Sindh, cases are increasing slowly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, at present the rate of cases in Karachi is 21% while it is 3%. It was informed in the meeting that 67% cases in Karachi Returning from Abad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Hyderabad, 500 patients are entering the country daily.
The briefing said that most of the 1210 patients in Karachi are in critical condition and the death rate in Karachi has also increased. There is a wave of Indian delta variant in the country, which is more in Karachi.
The Sindh government has installed 583 more oxygen beds from its own resources. Among the oxygen beds are 100 beds in JPMC, 75 in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 100 in Eid Gah Maternity, 150 in Expo, 158 in Coved Hospitals while NDMA has provided 537 oxygen beds to Sindh government. I have a total of 1120 oxygen beds.
