According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR), a vehicle of the Pakistan Army’s Quick Response Force (QRF) team deployed during the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections had an.accident . It may be recalled that the QRF team of Pakistan Army was deployed to establish law and order in the 2021 elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement said that the vehicle of Pak Army fell into a deep gorge while taking a turn in Laswa, as a result of which 4 soldiers were martyred and the civilian driver of the vehicle and 3 soldiers were injured. ISPR said that the injured personnel needed medical treatment. The injured were shifted to a nearby medical center.
It may be recalled that a total of about 43,500 Civil, Armed Forces and Army personnel from Azad Kashmir Police and other provinces were deployed to maintain law and order in the Azad Kashmir elections.
The ISPR had said in a statement that the Pakistan Army would provide security for the July 25 elections in Azad Kashmir, with the deployment of the Pakistan Army under the Quick Reaction Force from July 22 to 26.
The ISPR had said that the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir had summoned the Pakistan Army for security arrangements and the deployment was made under Article 245 of the Constitution.
The statement said that for the peaceful elections in Azad Kashmir, law enforcement personnel from other provinces and paramilitary forces including Rangers and FC personnel from other provinces will also be on duty along with the Azad Kashmir Police. To hold elections in style.
The ISPR had said that the Pakistan Army would have nothing to do with the polling stations, the polling process or the delivery of election materials.
