Regarding the Dasu Dam hydropower project, the spokesperson of the office said that the Chinese company has declared its notification on the issue of eviction of Pakistani employees ineffective and the concerned authorities of the two countries are in touch regarding security and commencement of work.
According to details, Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez said that the Chinese company working on the project has declared its notification of dismissal ineffective, security and relevant officials of the two countries are in touch regarding the commencement of work and the project. Work on the project will resume soon. China and Pakistan are committed to completing all power projects, including Dasu Hydro, on time.
It may be recalled that the Chinese company working on Dasu Dam has issued an important statement following the news on Pakistani media, in which the Chinese company engaged in the construction of Dasu Dam has announced that work on the project will continue. Chinese engineers will continue their work on the project. It should be noted that a report in a national newspaper claimed that after the death of Chinese engineers in Kohistan, the Chinese company ‘China Gizoba Group Company’ stopped work on Dasu Dam.
The company also fired all Pakistani employees, saying in a letter issued by the company that they could not continue work due to the July 14 incident. However, the Chinese company has now made it clear in a formal statement that work on the project will continue. On Saturday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed telephoned Chinese Minister for Public Security Xiao Kezhi to discuss the Dasu hydropower bus accident.
According to a statement issued here, the telephone conversation between the two ministers lasted for more than half an hour. The ministers also discussed the Dasu hydropower bus accident.
