According to reports, after the death of Chinese engineers in Kohistan, the Chinese company ‘China Gizoba Group Company’ has stopped work on Dasu Dam. Meanwhile, the Chinese company has also sacked all Pakistani employees.
The letter said work could not continue due to the July 14 incident.
In the letter, China Gizoba Group Company also said that all the employees will be paid graduation and salary. Anwar-ul-Haq, project director of Dasu Dam, also confirmed the closure of the company and the letter from the Chinese company. He said that as soon as the security situation is right, the work will start.
It may be recalled that the bus of the company working in Dasu Dam had met with an accident as a result of which 13 people were killed.
After the incident, China had also decided to join the investigation. In this regard, a high-level Chinese investigation team has reached Islamabad to investigate the incident involving a Chinese national’s bus. According to diplomatic sources, the Chinese team will visit the site the next day, where they will be briefed by Pakistani security officials. It may be recalled that two days ago, nine Chinese and four Pakistanis, including two FC men and two laborers, were killed when a bus fell into a ditch in Dasu.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said yesterday that the preliminary investigation into the Dasu incident had confirmed the presence of explosives, adding that the terrorism aspect could not be ignored in the incident. Contacts are ongoing and discussions are underway on various issues, including investigations.
