Sky News: Two Americans were injured in the attack on Ain al-Assad.
Sky News reported that two Americans were injured in an attack on the Ain al-Assad base in Iraq.
A US Defense Department official told Sky News that two Americans were among those injured in today’s attack on the Ain al-Assad base.
Iraqi security sources reported today that the Ain al-Assad base was targeted by a rocket.
The Iraqi army issued a statement in response to the attack, stating that the number of missiles was seven.
The Iraqi government’s security information center said a trailer was used in a rocket attack on a US military base in Anbar province.
The center said in a statement on Wednesday evening that at 12:30 a.m. today, a container truck was stopped in the al-Baghdadi area of Anbar province, apparently carrying bags of flour, but it was later determined that the truck was carrying rocket-shaped platforms.
A spokesman for the US military in Iraq confirmed the attack, saying the base had been targeted by 14 missiles.
The spokesman also acknowledged that three members of the coalition were wounded in the attack.
Ain Al Assad Air Base is located 180 kilometers from the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and is home to US troops.
