A majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the Biden administration’s performance in tackling crime and reducing violence, according to a joint ABC News and Larger Research poll.
Americans have given President Joe Biden a dismal rating on his handling of crime amid a surge in violence across the country, a new poll has found.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Friday morning shows just 38 percent of the public approve of how he is dealing with the spike in crime and 48 percent disapprove.
Murder rates in major cities have risen by 30 percent in the last year and shootings have spiked by 8 percent.
According to the report, about 48% of American citizens have expressed dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s performance in reducing crime.
Only 36 percent of Americans rated the performance of the Republican Party, 35 percent rated the performance of the Democratic Party as effective in combating crime and violence, and about 20 percent said they did not trust the two parties.
More than 59 percent of those polled also said that crime and gun violence are very serious issues.
More than 75 percent of Americans believe that the best way to deal with the growing crime in this country is to increase funding to provide economic opportunities for low-income and poor people.
More than 46 percent of Americans have called for tougher gun laws.
