The Irish representative to the European Parliament wrote in a Twitter message that Iraqis want to rebuild their country and for this purpose, foreign troops must leave the country.
Irish member of the European Parliament Mick Wallace tweeted that US and Turkish forces must leave Iraq in order for Iraq to rebuild.
“Iraq wants to rebuild its country and seeks a normal, independent state,” he tweeted. “In order for this to happen, foreign troops must leave the country, which is in accordance with a law passed by the Iraqi parliament that includes the United States and Turkey.”
“If the EU is interested in peace and stability in the Middle East, it must support the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq,” he said in a recent Twitter message. “The United States has done enough destruction and has done nothing for peace if it rejects respect for the Iraqi parliament’s democratic decision to leave.”
