The head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) resigned the day before the inauguration of President Joe Biden.
Gina Haspel, who was appointed to head the CIA by US President Donald Trump , resigned just one day before the inauguration of President Joe Biden and resigned from the CIA after her 36 years of Service in CIA.
In a statement posted on Twitter yesterday (Tuesday), Haspel said of her resignation that she was “deeply proud of what [she and the CIA] have done together.”
Haspel was appointed CIA director in 2018, becoming the first woman to hold the post, replacing current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
