Europeans refuse to meet officially with “Mohammad bin Salman”
Western diplomatic source revealed that Europeans (leaders) refused to meet with Mohammed bin Salman because of his black record of human rights.
Saudi Lex reported; A Western diplomatic source revealed that Europeans (leaders) refused to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, despite relentless efforts to improve Saudi Arabia’s image.
The source stressed that the Saudi embassies in Britain, France and other European countries had been following up on bin Salman’s official visit to these countries in recent weeks; But European countries strongly refused to accept Muhammad bin Salman now or in the near future.
According to the source, the unanimous response of these countries was that bin Salman could have informal meetings without an official welcome.
He added: “European officials do not want to meet with bin Salman in any official way for fear of domestic and international criticism.”
Reporters Without Borders decided last March to sue Mohammed bin Salman for the murder of critical Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The complaint was about widespread and organized harassment of journalists in Saudi Arabia, targeting four other high-ranking Saudi officials in addition to the Crown Prince.
The CIA announced that the Saudi Crown Prince had ordered the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi. Thus, the CIA report was the first official report in this regard, which led to the international isolation of the Saudi Crown Prince, at least for a relatively long time.
Mohammed bin Salman has been in international isolation since 2017 after a coup against former Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef.
Saudi Arabia is also witnessing international and human rights criticisms that have intensified since bin Salman came to power and carried out a series of crimes of arrests and corruption cases inside and outside Saudi Arabia.
