The SOMI Foundation’s lawyers were unable to explain in court how Tik Tok uses personal data. He said there were concerns about the transfer of personal ads and data to the United States and China, and that the app did not seek formal permission, allowing people under the age of 16 without their parents’ permission to easily create a profile on tik tok .
