Former Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan Zulfi Bukhari has returned home. According to details, former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari has decided to return home and join the inquiry into the Ring Road scandal. Zulfi Bukhari said that he would definitely appear if called by any investigating agency.
I will prove my innocence by joining the inquiry. He had resigned due to being named in the inquiry. Prime Minister Imran Khan had refused to resign. Zulfi Bukhari added that soon there will be milk and water, the propagandists will soon be disappointed. It may be recalled that Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari had resigned from the post of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis after being named in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal, after which he left for Dubai.
When Zulfi Bukhari left for Dubai, there were rumors that he would not return home, after which Zulfi Bukhari responded to the critics in his message on the microblogging website Twitter, saying that he was on a weekly holiday in Dubai and on Monday. I will return to Pakistan every day. He added in his tweet that the PML-N and its social media cell should also take a leave of absence for some time.
It is to be noted that large scale irregularities were revealed in the Rawalpindi Ring Road Inquiry. It was stated in the inquiry that former Commissioner Muhammad Mahmood made illegal change in the direction of Ring Road and with the connivance of consultants changed the direction of Ring Road. Mohammad Mahmood, former LAC Wasim Tabish, former officer Abdullah were found involved in irregularities.
According to sources, the case has been referred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for action against the three officers. The NAB will investigate scams worth Rs2.3 billion in the project. Later, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar approved the publication of the investigation report into the Ring Road scandal and ordered non-discriminatory action against those responsible. On the other hand, the team conducting special audit of Rawalpindi Ring Road project is facing difficulties in obtaining records.
Sources said that the team of DG Audit Punjab has collected records of illegal housing societies, recruitment in Project Management Unit (PMU) around Ring Road, PC-2 of the project, consultancy award, consultant agreement and 14 different. Documents have been requested, out of which only 5 documents have been accessed. The team has to conduct an audit and submit a report to the Punjab government within 20 days.
