According to Kashmir Media Service, in a joint letter sent to the Indian government, five UN special rapporteurs have exposed the incidents involving three Kashmiris Abdul Waheed Pareh, Irfan Ahmed Dar and Naseer Ahmed Wani and exposed India.
He said Pareh was apparently targeted for expressing concern over the Indian government’s actions in the occupied territories, the letter said, adding that he was kept in an underground dark cell where the temperature was negative, stripped naked and hung upside down. The letter also mentions Irfan Ahmaddar, a 23-year-old shopkeeper arrested by Indian police from Sopore on September 15, 2020, whose body was found by his family the next day with broken bones in his face and front teeth. Were
The letter clarified that the extrajudicial killing of Irfan Dar was a violation of Article 6 of the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights.
Experts say Naseer Ahmed Wani, a resident of Shopian, was detained by Indian troops on November 29, 2019 and has not returned home since, according to the letter. There are signatures of Kalamard and Funwala Ni Olin.
