According to details, Pakistan’s first Green Eurobond has been officially launched. The Green Eurobond was issued by WAPDA on the London Stock Exchange this week. These bonds were issued for financing Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.
Addressing the function, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that the success of Eurobond is a sign of confidence in the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance is committed to the completion of projects, Mohmand and Bhasha dams are essential for the future of the country.
It may be recalled that the Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan (WAPDA) has introduced its first کروڑ 500 million Green Eurobond in the global financial market. WAPDA Eurobonds have received massive bids from global investors.
Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gul had said that the extraordinary acceptance of Green Eurobond in the global financial market has opened new avenues for financing major projects in Pakistan as it has helped to raise تین 3 billion against the requirement of 500 million. There are almost no offers.
