The European-Saudi human rights organization reported an unprecedented increase in the number of executions in Saudi Arabia during the reign of King Salman.
The European-Saudi human rights organization tweeted that Saudi authorities had executed 838 people from 2015 to April 2021.
According to this report, 130 cases of executions have been reported in 2019.
Last year, Western nations called for an end to the execution of children and political dissidents in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the London-based human rights group Reprio said in a report that the number of executions had almost doubled during the reign of King Salman of Saudi Arabia.
The group has said that 800 people have been executed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since King Salman took power in Saudi Arabia. From 2009 to 2014, there were 423 executions in Saudi Arabia.
The human rights group has said that the increase in capital pinishment in Saudi Arabia is in stark contrast to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s commitment to minimizing the number of executions in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia reportedly executed 185 people in 2019 alone, the highest number in several years.
