A blast on Qambarani Road in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province, injured five people, including a child and a security official, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sariab Road said, adding that the explosives were planted on the side of the road. The officer was also injured.
As soon as the blast was reported, law enforcement and rescue teams rushed to the scene and those injured in the blast were rushed to a civil hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies launched an investigation to find out the nature of the blast. Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani said in a statement that five people were injured in the blast and were shifted to hospitals, while police and other security agencies. Besieged the area.
He condemned the bomb blast near Qambrani Road Bashir Chowk and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
At the same time, he said that instructions have been issued to the hospitals to provide better treatment facilities to the injured.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan condemned the bomb blast in Qambrani Road area of Quetta and said that those who targeted innocent civilians did not deserve any concession.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that protection of life and property of the people was the responsibility of the government and no one would be allowed to disturb law and order in the province.
He directed the concerned authorities to take effective foolproof security measures for the protection of the citizens as well as to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.
It is to be noted that Balochistan province has been suffering from unrest for many years and various incidents of sabotage including attacks on security forces and explosions have been taking place here.
A few days ago, a bomb blast at a Palestinian Solidarity Day rally in Chaman District killed six people and injured 14.
On April 28, a remote-controlled bomb exploded in Qila Abdullah District, killing one policeman and injuring four others, including officers.
Earlier, four people were killed and 12 others were injured in a bomb blast in the parking lot of Serena Hotel in Quetta on the 21st of last month.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had claimed that the blast in the hotel parking lot was a suicide bombing for which 60 to 80 kg of explosives were used.
Earlier in February this year, a bomb blast on Enscombe Road near the DC office in Quetta killed two people and injured five civilians.
