Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on the United Nations On the sidelines of the General Assembly, he met with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Foreign Minister conveyed to the Secretary-General the concern over the brutal use of force against the unarmed Palestinians and the martyrdom of innocent Palestinian citizens, women and children.
He said that more than 250 Palestinians have been martyred as a result of systematic and relentless use of force against the Palestinians, while the number of injured is said to be in the thousands.
The Foreign Minister said that the purpose of his visit was to raise his voice in favor of the unarmed oppressed Palestinians by attending the emergency session of the General Assembly and to draw the attention of the international community to the human rights violations. The right is committed to continuing to support the struggle for self-determination.
Welcoming the ceasefire, the UN Secretary-General hoped that it would help resolve the Palestinian issue through dialogue.
The Foreign Minister apprised the UN Secretary General of the grave human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, illegal detention of Kashmiri leaders and extrajudicial killings.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Kashmir issue is essential for lasting peace in South Asia in the light of UN Security Council resolutions and the agreement reached between Pakistan and India on compliance with the 2003 ceasefire agreement is welcome. Is coming
He said that Pakistan has always been in favor of peaceful relations with its neighbors but now it is the responsibility of India to create a conducive environment for dialogue.
The Foreign Minister stressed the need for a peaceful and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue through the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.
The Foreign Minister briefed the UN Secretary-General on Pakistan’s efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan and hoped that all parties would pursue comprehensive political dialogue for peace and stability in the region and a peaceful solution to the Afghan problem. Will do
