Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, working vice-chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference in illegally occupied Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has expressed deep concern over the escalation of killings in Indian-Israeli-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine by Kashmir and Media. According to Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar, while the Muslim Ummah is preparing to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, oppressed Kashmiris and Palestinians are burying the bodies of their loved ones in cemeteries demanding restoration of their basic rights.
He called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to stand united and face the challenges ahead, including ensuring a solution to the Kashmir and Palestinian disputes.
Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar arrested dozens of Hurriyat leaders in jails in India and Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including Musarat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Asiya Andrabi, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Shahidul Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakto and Nazir Ahmad Sheikh. And expressed concern over the deteriorating health of workers.
He condemned India’s irrational reluctance to demand unconditional release of Kashmiri leaders and activists detained in Indian jails during the fast-spreading Corona epidemic. He termed Indian bigotry as political revenge to eliminate the liberal leadership under a strategy similar to that done with Shaheed Sadaqat Muhammad Ashraf Sahrai in Adhampur Jail, Jammu.
The Hurriyat leader advised the Fascist Indian government to reconsider its history of slavery when India was under British rule and its leaders were kept in jails near their homes and released in case of ill health. He cited the example of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and said that he was allowed to take care of his ailing wife even during his detention.
The Hurriyat leader condemned the inhumane behavior of the current Fascist Indian government, which did not allow freedom-loving leaders like Ayaz Akbar, Muhammad Yasin Atai and Amir Hamza to meet their ailing wives even when they were in the throes of death and resurrection. She passed away without seeing her husband. Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, while praising the unwavering determination and steadfastness of the Nazarband Kashmiri leaders and workers, clarified that the freedom fighters never beg for petty concessions nor bow their heads in the face of oppression and barbarism.
He called on UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and human rights groups, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to work with India to secure the release of illegally detained Kashmiri leaders.
