In its first action against the Palestinians after normalizing relations with the Zionist regime, the government of Morocco prevented the Moroccan people from holding demonstrations on the occasion of Land Day.
Demonstrations by Moroccans on Land Day in solidarity with the Palestinians in the city of Rabat were dispersed by the arrival of security forces.
The security forces of Morocco dispersed protesters and blocked the main roads leading to the demonstrations as protesters chanted anti-Israel slogans condemning the normalization of bilateral relations, Reuters reported.
According to the report, Moroccan protesters chanted slogans such as “Normalization is a betrayal”, “Palestine is a trust” and “Demonstrations are a legal right” during their protests.
The Moroccan government announced on December 10 that it had completely normalized its relations with the Zionist regime.
The Moroccan government has previously said in a statement that it will prevent any rallies or demonstrations in order to take health measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to extend the state of emergency.
