Addressing a news conference in Rawalpindi, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that 570 people were on ventilators across the country and 4,300 were in critical condition. Only by implementing Corona SOPs can we be safe from this epidemic
The DG ISPR said that the rate of corona cases is very high in 16 cities of the country, where Pakistan Army has been deployed to assist the civil institutions. He said that Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Lahore, The number of positive cases of corona is very high in Faisalabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Azad Kashmir and Muzaffarabad. Corona positive cases account for more than 5% in 51 cities.
He said that the army has been called in to help the civilian institutions. The month of Ramadan teaches us sense and discipline. As a nation, we have to be more careful and fulfill our collective and individual responsibilities.
He said that the meetings of all the provincial apex committees would be held once a week. He said that the task of the army was to assist the civilian agencies in emergencies and the Pakistan Army would meet the expectations of the people in this hour of ordeal.
