Dozens of ISIS were killed in the special operation of Hashd al-Shaabi in Khanaqin.
According to Al-Maloumah, Bashir Al-Anbaki, one of the commanders of the Hashd al-Shaabi forces, announced that the operation of these forces against ISIS underground networks in some areas of Khanaqin, located 100 kilometers northeast of Baqubah, was successful.
He further added: Our forces, after receiving information about the movements of ISIS elements in this area, formulated a special strategic plan for the implementation of anti-terrorist operations, after which we witnessed the death of dozens of terrorist elements.
Al-Anbaki stated: Khanaqin and its surrounding villages have not witnessed any terrorist operations this year due to the efforts of Hashd al-Shaabi forces, which play an important role in supporting the security of Iraq.
He added: The Hashd al-Shaabi forces have also succeeded in supporting and protecting the lives of more than half a million pilgrims from different countries on the way to Khanaqin and returning them to their homes during the Arbaeen ceremony.
Currently, six brigades of Hashd al-Shaabi forces are stationed in 13 districts in Diyala. Iraq’s Hashd Shaabi forces had previously announced the increase in the presence of their forces in Diyala province and the presence of these forces in 3 lakes of this province.
In this regard, Mohammad Al-Tamimi, one of the commanders of the Iraqi Hashd al-Shaabi, in a conversation with Al-Malouma, announced that the command of the Diyala axis pays special attention to the water forces of the Hashd al-Shaabi in order to achieve important goals in the security plan of Diyala province.
Referring to the role of Hashd al-Shaabi water forces in the fight against ISIS, Al-Tamimi added: The water forces of Hashd al-Shaabi have effectively participated in cutting off the routes of sending equipment and aid to the ISIS terrorist group in Lake Hamreen for more than 6 years in a row.
He further added: Diyala axis command has expanded the power of the navy forces. In this way, Hashd Shaabi’s water forces will also be present in Al-Azeem Lake in line with the strategy of ensuring the security of the lakes against any security gaps. Because securing this lake is an important strategic goal.
It should be mentioned that Hashd Shaabi’s water forces have played an important role in increasing the security of lakes, including Lake Hamreen, for several years.
