The president of Brazil demanded to change in the structure of the Security Council.
The Al-Mayadeen website reported that during his visit to Angola, Brazilian President Lula da Silva made a statement calling for changes to the structure of the Security Council. He stressed the need for new and permanent members to be added to the Council, as the current situation has turned it into a promoter of war and conflict, instead of a harbinger of peace. Lula da Silva also highlighted the importance of reviewing the Council’s governance structure to ensure it reflects the realities of the modern world. In addition, he expressed concern over the weakening of the United Nations’ position in recent years and advocated for other countries to have a more prominent role in important international institutions.
