Desecration of the Holy Quran in Denmark.
After two new insults to the Holy Quran in Europe in the last two weeks, on Friday, a new insult to the Quran occurred in Europe, this time in Denmark.
A far-right group in Denmark burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
Members of a far-right group calling themselves “Danske Patrioter” (Patriots of Denmark) carried anti-Islamic flags and chanted insulting slogans against Islam in front of the Iraqi embassy in the Danish capital, Turkey’s Anatolia news agency reported.
This insulting act happened just one day after at noon on Thursday, July 20, for the second time in the last few weeks, the perpetrators of Koran burning in Sweden insulted the Holy Quran with the green light of the Swedish police and after receiving a permit for an anti-Islamic rally in Stockholm (more details).
Regarding the insult to the Holy Quran in Denmark, Anatoly reporter reported that the followers of the extreme group of Danish patriots threw the Iraqi flag and the Holy Quran on the ground and trampled it. The extremist group also live-streamed this offensive act on their Facebook account.
In justifying this action, the said group said that this attack on the holy area of the Holy Quran was carried out in protest against the attack of Quran-burning protesters on the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad.
Reports indicate that this extremist group had insulted the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen in late January of this year.
On Thursday last week, Iraqi-Swedish citizen “Salvan Momika” in an anti-Islam rally, with the support of the Swedish police, once again insulted the Holy Quran and burned the Iraqi flag, after which a large number of Muslims also brought themselves to the place of insulting the Holy Quran and responded to the offending person with the slogans “La Allah illa Allah” and “Muhammad is the Messenger of God”.
Previously, on June 28, “Salvan Momika” (37 years old) in Stockholm, on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, tore a copy of the Quran and set it on fire in the central mosque of this city. After that, the Iraqi judiciary ordered the arrest of this Swedish citizen of Iraqi descent, and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry asked the Swedish government to hand over the person who violated the Holy Quran to this country for trial.
On the other hand, in the continuation of the public anger against the Swedish government, on Thursday morning, a number of Iraqi people attacked the country’s embassy in Baghdad and set it on fire in response to Sweden’s issuance of permission to burn the Holy Quran again. Finally, with the intervention of the Iraqi security forces, the protesters dispersed from the Swedish embassy, as a result of which all the activities of the Swedish embassy in Iraq were completely suspended.
