US envoy says Iraq invasion was based on a lie.
John Kerry: The excuse for the US attack on Iraq was a lie. John Kerry, the US special representative on climate change and the former US secretary of state admitted in an interview with French television that the 2003 invasion of the US and its allies against Iraq was based on a lie, but he did not accept that this war was a war of aggression against Iraq.
John Kerry said: No, no, no one knew then that (these documents and evidence) were lies, the documents that were made, no one knew that these documents were lies. It was not a war wasn’t a crime because no direct charges were ever brought against President Bush.
He further added: I don’t intend to talk about the Iraq war again, I have already talked a lot, I think this war was a mistake, but unfortunately we gave the president the power (to do this) based on a lie.
George DeBillo Bush and Tony Blair, the president and prime minister of the United States and England, attacked Iraq in 2003 after the attack on the twin towers of the United States, claiming that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction and is connected with the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.
The war between the United States and its allies against Iraq officially ended in 2011, but under the pretext of “fighting ISIS”, nearly 2,500 American troops are still present in Iraq.
