A Massive Hacking Attack On Russian Diplomats.
According to AFP, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that thousands of iPhones belonging to diplomats of this country were hacked.
Hackers apparently targeted the iPhones of diplomats working at Russian embassies and consulates in NATO member states, and former Soviet republics, as well as in China, Tel Aviv, and Syria, the FSB said in a statement.
The statement did not provide further details about the cyber attack, only saying that an unknown program targeted vulnerable parts of the iOS operating system.
The information obtained by the Russian special services indicates the close cooperation of the American company Apple with the national security community, that is, with the US National Security Agency (NSA), and confirms that the declared policy of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information of users on Apple devices does not correspond to reality.
Apple denied the accusation, saying in a statement quoted by Reuters that it has never worked with any government to get hackers into any Apple product and never would. The US National Security Agency, however, has refused to comment.
In the summer of last year, at the same time as the war in Ukraine, the Russian hacking group “RaHDit” announced that following the recent revelations of this group of confidential information obtained from the Ukrainian army, as well as the role of the United States in Kyiv’s attacks on Russian territory, as well as the deletion of the information of service employees. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the US National Security Agency (NSA) has targeted the group’s website for DDoS attacks (cyber attacks to deny the website its services).
One of the hackers of this group said in a conversation with Ryanovsti: “We don’t receive threats against us, because they don’t know who we are.” However, our website is subject to constant DDoS attacks. Attacks were carried out that belonged to the American NSA service.
