Saudi Foreign Minister’s stance on the ceasefire agreement in Sudan.
According to Sputnik, Saudi Foreign Minister “Faisal bin Farhan” after the signing of the ceasefire agreement between the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support militia last night, emphasized: Saudi leaders want to protect the lives of the Sudanese people.
He said: We emphasize on protecting the security and stability of Sudan and the people of this country. I appreciate the cooperation of the Sudanese parties to sign this agreement.
Ben Farhan continued: This agreement will create hope for Sudanese people, especially the residents of the country’s capital. We hope that the ceasefire agreement between the conflicting parties in Sudan will be extended later.
After the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Sudan, details of this agreement were announced based on the joint statement of the United States and Saudi Arabia.
The US Department of State announced in a joint statement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia that the ceasefire in Sudan can be extended and will take effect 48 hours after the signing of the agreement and will continue for 7 days.
According to the Washington-Riyadh joint statement, the two sides of the conflict in Sudan emphasized the need to maintain a reasonable distance from hospitals.
The ceasefire agreement also provides for the cessation of aircraft bombing, heavy artillery and marches.
