Peace in the region depends upon the peace in Yemen.
Many analysts believe that the resumption of political relations with Saudi Arabia will accelerate the end of the war in Yemen, the beginning of popular dialogue in this country and the formation of an inclusive national government.
The consequences of this agreement on Yemen depend on a number of internal and external factors, especially factors related to the context of this agreement, which increases the possibility of reaching a permanent ceasefire in Yemen and achieving a political solution.
At the international level, the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia is expected to change the existing alliances in the region and may increase China’s desire for greater regional presence in line with the multipolar international order.
In this regard, the reporter of Mehr News Agency conducted a press interview with “Ali Al-Kahhoum”, a member of the political office of Ansarullah Movement in Yemen, and the text of this interview is as follows:
The latest positive developments in the Yemen case appeared in the release of a large number of prisoners of war on both sides. In your opinion, was this action purely humanitarian or did it happen under the influence of de-escalation and dialogue and understanding between the parties to the conflict in Yemen?
We are optimistic about Oman’s admirable efforts and mediation to achieve a just peace and good neighborliness, and a positive atmosphere has been created and significant progress has been achieved, and God willing, in the agreement established, the sacrifices of the Yemeni people, sovereignty, unity and independence will be preserved. And also stop the aggression, lift the siege, withdraw the foreign forces, rebuild and get compensation.
