The White House Treated A Muslim Mayor Offensively.
According to Anatolia News Agency, the US Secret Service did not allow Mohammad Khairullah, the mayor of Prospect Park, New Jersey, to participate in the Eid al-Fitr celebration held by President Joe Biden at the White House.
In this regard, Mohammad Khairullah said: Before entering the reception ceremony, he received a phone call from the White House stating that the secret service did not allow him to attend and therefore he cannot participate in this celebration.
He stated that the White House did not explain the reason for this decision of the secret service, and said that this decision is “disappointing”.
Referring to the “Terrorism Watch List” of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which includes more than one million people, including Muslims, Khairullah clarified: The issue is not participation in an event. The real issue is the reason behind it. There is a list that targets me because of my identity. The highest official of the United States should not be dealing with such matters.
Anthony Guglielmi, the spokesman of the US Secret Service confirmed that the mayor of Prospect Park was not allowed to enter the White House.
Salahuddin Maqsood, director of the American Muslim Advocacy and Civil Liberties Office (CAIR) in New Jersey, described the White House’s action as “unacceptable and humiliating.”
