Germany: Ukraine should not attack Russia with the weapons sent by us.
According to Sputnik, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz stressed that Germany will refrain from unilateral actions when providing military support and weapons to Ukraine, while ensuring that the weapons sent to Kiev for an attack on the territory Russia is not used.
The German chancellor stated that the country has provided numerous packages of military support to Kyiv and has always coordinated such measures with its allies.
Shultz also said: “What is important for us is that the weapons that we give (Kiev) that Ukraine can defend themselves with are not used to attack Russian territory.”
The German chancellor also stated that Berlin will continue to support Ukraine, but will do everything it can to prevent a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO.
Western countries, including Germany, increased their military support for Ukraine after the start of the Ukrainian war on February 24, 2022. These aids include missiles and anti-missile and air defense systems, multiple launch missile systems, tanks, self-propelled artillery, armored vehicles and all kinds of ammunition.
Russia, on the other hand, has repeatedly warned against sending such equipment, as it would further prolong the conflict and escalate it, possibly leading to the direct involvement of the United States and NATO in the conflict.
Also, on Monday, “John Kirby”, the spokesman of the National Security Council of the White House, announced the delivery of new weapons to Ukraine in a statement: “You will soon see the delivery of new weapons from us to Ukraine.”
